You wouldn't be using any more bandwidth than if you were using a cloud service. I'm not sure I get the using the bandwidth part. Binfer will deliver in half the time than a cloud-based platform partly because it doesn't have to upload to the cloud and then be downloaded again. However, the advantages are speed, privacy and ease-of-use. And yes, your machine or device have to be on when doing the transfer. There are also vulnerabilities with this older tech. FTP is a bit of a challenge for the non-technically-minded where Binfer's file transfer, sync, and web drop are very easy to use and very easy to embed in a site.

Thanks for the feedback! It is in-fact cloudless.

Please correct me if I'm getting it wrong as I was initially going to talk to the managers here and think about taking you up on the offer, but I'm unsure exactly how to pitch that conversation after reading your site. It sounds like you've gone cloudless in everything but the pricing structure - pricing per GB rubs me the wrong way if the clients have to provide those GB themselves! So don't get me wrong, I'm probably just misunderstanding your service offering here but I'm not sure what your market or intended use is here and how being 'cloudless' is advantageous to providing that service. So what exact advantages does your cloudless approach have that makes you competitive with those?

Vimeo Pro is about $20/month for 200GB storage per week maxing out at 1TB/year with unlimited source-quality downloads and has all the video playback/embedding features too WeTransfer is about $12/month for 500GB cloud storage with unlimited bandwidth provided in that price If we compare your pricing to some common cloud services: I could see the point if your service was there to facilitate things like transferring rushes between studios, but then not only are your package bandwidth limits way too low for that but then you're competing with FTP which is well established, widely supported, and most importantly free? The advantage of uploading it once so it can be downloaded many times is lost too! That's fine for a business like mine with 100Mbps FTTP, but for the average freelancer with a 10Mbps ADSL line with 2Mbps upload then it's not going to be fast at all, especially for files with multiple recipients.

Likewise that also means that speed will be limited by the slowest point in the chain.

So if I were a client, and I went for your $18/mo package and hosted a 250GB file, and four people downloaded it not only am I paying for your service to facilitate the transfer, I am also paying for 1TB of bandwidth myself and the costs associated with having a server running 24/7 so those files remain available when the recipient wants to download them. So that must mean that in order for someone to receive a file from one of your clients, then your client has to have a machine online with the file active, and then your clients in addition to paying you have to provide their own bandwidth? So you say it's cloudless and the website touts it as an alternative to FTP (which to the technically minded isn't a hard thing to set up).
